Question by M L: gutters have droplets?
i just got gutters installed. i noticed that when it rains there are droplets all along the bottom edge. is this how it should be. i had gutters before and i don’t remember seeing this. it seems like it could be a problem for icicles in the winter. do i need to have the installer come back? is there a way i can test the gutters? what should i be looking for?

I would call your contractor back. You shouldn’t have a problem already if you just had them installed. If they were older I would say live with it, but it doesn’t sound that the job was done right the first time.

    1. Frank Pytel says:

The droplets may be formed from leaks or condensation. If it’s leaks, then they need to come back. They may not have properly leveled the face, not the length, of the gutter. It also could be dripping from behind the gutter because they couldn’t get the shingles completely under the gutter. You may have to add some tabs under the existing shingles to extend them into the gutter.

If it’s condensation, You will get icicles. If you live in an area with high humidity you are going to get icicles.

      Here are a few tips.

Call them back. This shouldn’t be happening.
